How to reach Triund
Triund is in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh, to reach Triund you have to take a bus from Delhi and reach Dharmshala from there you can take a bus to Mcleodganj, also you can opt for a shared cab to Mcleodganj. The nearest airport is Gaggal airport, it is 17km away from Mcleodganj. You can easily get a cab from outside the airport. The nearest railway station is Pathankot railway station, after reaching Pathankot, take a bus to Dharmshala or hire a Taxi to Mcleodganj.
The starting point of the trek is Gallu Devi temple, you can take a cab to Mcleodganj and start the trek from there. From Dharmshala the distance to Triund is 5.5km.
It totally depends upon the walking capacity of the person from where they want to start.
Descending back you can visit Bhagsu waterfall and Dal lake.
Best time to visit
Triund trek is accessible all around the year. The beauty of the place is flourishing throughout the year. The best time to visit Triund is from May to June and September to October. The summers are very pleasant offering clear sky and winters are picturesque with snow cladded mountains and place looks astonishing covered with snow.
